INSTALLINGYOURROOMHEATER‐continued
FREESTANDINGEXTERIORVERTICALINSTALLATION
1. LocateyourPelletStoveRoomHeaterinalocationwhichmeetstherequirementsofthismanual,but
inanareawhereitdoesnotinterferewiththehouseframing,wiring,etc.
2. Installanoncombustiblehearthpadunderneaththepelletstove.Thispadshouldextendatleast6”
(152mm)infrontoftheunit.
3. PlaceyourPelletStoveRoomHeateronthehearthpadandlocatetheunitinmannerthatwillleave
theexhaustventwithaminimumof3”(75mm)clearancetoanycombustiblewall.
4. Ifinstallingtheoptionalairintake, locatethecenterofthecombustionairintakepipeat
thebackof
your unit. Line up the center with the same spot on your exterior wall and cut a 21/2” (64mm)
diameterholethroughthewall.
5. Secure all vent joint connections with 3 screws. Seal the exhaust vent joint connections with high
temperaturesiliconesealant.
6. Locate
thecenteroftheexhaustpipe,atthebackoftheunit.Lineupthecenterwiththesamespot
ontheexteriorwallacuta7”(178mm)diameterholethroughthewall.
7. Installthewallthimble;(refertotheinstructionswhichcomewiththewallthimble).
8. Installanapprovedexhaustventthroughthewall;besuretomakesurethat3”(75mm)clearances
tocombustiblesaremaintained.
9. Secure all vent joint connections with 3 screws. Seal the exhaust vent joint connections with high
temperaturesiliconesealant.
10. Install a Tee with a cleanout on the end of the exhaust pipe and then install approved venting
upwardfromthere.Besuretoinstallsupportbracketsevery5’(1525cm)tokeeptheventingstraight
andsecure.
11. Extendtheexhaustventthroughtheroofflashingandensurethattheverticalcapisapproximately
36”(900mm)abovetheroof.
